Sarah Nielsen, a genetic counselor from the University of Chicago, discusses the importance of educating physicians about how genetics and family history impact the diagnosis and treatment of their patients. Sarah also talks about her experience coaching and developing screening protocols for providers in the genetic space. 

The importance of understanding genetic mutations, family history, and how direct to consumer genetic test results can vary greatly from lab to lab is discussed. The reality of limited access to genetic counselors and how providers can help educate themselves is also discussed.
